The Dominion Building

Transforming the former printing facility and head office of the Dominion Newspaper into high quality apartments, commercial offices and retail premises without compromising the historical significance of the building was always going to be a challenge.

Designed by Athfield Architects and completed in 1996, the Dominion apartments are still considered high quality and continue to be sought after on resale.

The redevelopment into apartments gives the building its third life. Originally the Dominion newspaper’s printing facility and head office, it was sold and redeveloped for office use in the mid-1980s. When it came to our turn to give it a new lease of life, we converted the building to 31 apartments over levels five to seven, and upgraded offices and retail areas on the lower levels, all of which were sold on individual unit titles.
