Situated on the fringes of Auckland city, the Rubix apartments and commercial development provides views of the Harbour Bridge and Grafton Gully.

We were engaged to manage the project in August 2004. It consisted of the partial demolition of the existing Venluree window treatments and blinds factory, and conversion and significant additions to the building to develop a three storey commercial and residential complex.

The bottom two storeys are dedicated office and showroom facilities, with large residential apartments on the top floor. Duplex apartments occupy the Karaka Street elevation of the development.

Unique architectural detailing together with the complications of working with and matching into existing structures required us to maintain a hands on involvement through all stages of the project. Detailed design reviews and close on site monitoring procedures ensured that issues were resolved appropriately and the client’s high quality expectations maintained.
